Overview
Proserva supports live synchronous sessions through embedding and integration with external video conferencing platforms. It does not include a native video conferencing engine — instead, it provides structured containers (lesson types and course types) that let instructors schedule, link, and deliver live sessions within the Proserva course environment. Learners join without leaving the platform.
Embedded Conferences (Lesson Type)
The Embedded Conference is a dedicated lesson type designed for live virtual sessions:
Instructors add it to any course module just like any other lesson (via Syllabus → Add Content).
The lesson includes a meeting link, date/time, and any pre-session instructions or materials.
Students see the conference in their course outline alongside other lessons. At the scheduled time, they click to join — the meeting opens within the Proserva lesson page.
After the session, instructors can attach a recorded training link, slides, or follow-up materials to the same lesson.
Setting Up an Embedded Conference
Create your meeting in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or any platform that generates a shareable link.
In Proserva, add an Embedded Conference lesson to your course module.
Paste the meeting link and set the date/time.
Add any pre-work instructions, attached files, or embedded content.
Save and publish. Students see it in their course outline.
Live Workshop (Course Type)
When creating a new course, Proserva offers a choice between Course and Live Workshop:
Course: the standard asynchronous container with modules, lessons, assignments, and discussions. Designed for self-paced or scheduled cohort-based learning.
Live Workshop: a lighter container optimized for synchronous, facilitator-led sessions. Streamlined compared to a full course — focused on the live event itself rather than multi-module curriculum.
Live Workshops are ideal for single-session trainings, webinars, orientation sessions, or any synchronous event where the primary value is in the live interaction rather than extended self-paced content.
External Platform Integration
Proserva is video-platform-agnostic. Any service that generates a shareable meeting link works:
Zoom: paste the meeting link. Pro users can also set registration requirements on the Zoom side.
Google Meet: generate a meeting link in Google Calendar or Meet and paste it into the conference lesson.
Microsoft Teams: use the Teams meeting link.
Any other platform: Webex, GoToMeeting, etc. — if it has a link, it works.
Embedding Options
Direct link: students click and the meeting opens in a new tab.
HTML/iFrame embed: lessons support embedded HTML and iFrames. Some platforms (Zoom, YouTube Live) can be embedded directly in the Proserva lesson page so the video plays inline.
Recorded training link: after the session, instructors can add a link to the recording within the same conference lesson for students who missed it or want to review.
Event Metadata
Proserva tracks event details as structured data:
Meeting link
Start and end time
Location (virtual or physical)
Recorded training link
Attendees list
Meeting notes (files and links)
This metadata supports scheduling, calendar integration, and reporting on session participation.
Best Practices
Pre-session materials: attach slides, readings, or pre-work to the conference lesson so everything is in one place.
Post-session follow-up: update the same lesson with the recording link and any follow-up assignments or discussions.
Reminders: use course announcements or broadcast messages to remind students before the session.
Test the link: preview the lesson as a student to confirm the meeting link opens correctly, especially if your organization has firewall or ad-blocker restrictions on external meeting platforms.
